Clarence Chong – Vice President, Marketing & Client Strategy

Clarence is responsible for the organizational and client marketing strategy at Campus Living Centres. This includes collaborating with post-secondary institutions to develop integrated residence marketing and recruitment strategies, partnering with private developers to create branding campaigns for their purpose-built student housing assets, and managing key client relationships. By leveraging the latest in marketing technology, he assists clients with optimizing their digital presence to maximize student occupancy. In addition, Clarence also oversees the Residence & Conference Centre brand, our summer hotel-alternative accommodations program that generates non-student revenue on behalf of our campus partners.

Prior his role at Campus Living Centres, Clarence held several roles at The University of Manitoba, and started his career working in hospitality. Clarence holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from The University of Manitoba, and a Master of Arts from Athabasca University.

Luke Jeffery, M.A. – Director, Residence Life – Leadership, Training, & Development
Luke began his student affairs journey with Campus Living Centres in 2010 and quickly developed a passion for student engagement work. After 6 years, Luke left Campus Living Centres for Michigan State University where he filled the role of Assistant Community Director as well as playing an instrumental role in leading the Co-Curricular Project Implementation team. Luke moved back to Canada to accept a position at St. Jerome’s University (University of Waterloo) as their Residence Manager. While at St. Jerome’s, Luke directed the institution’s student leadership training and hiring program. Today Luke is responsible for overseeing the overall residence life program across Campus Living Centres. Luke holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Nipissing University, and a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University.

Tayte Hewson, CPA, CA – Director, Finance
Tayte joined Campus Living Centres after gaining experience in audit and assurance, while working at a national accounting firm. Tayte is responsible for the sound management of the financial resources of the Company, including the control of the budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and treasury functions. She ensures that the financially reporting for our clients is completed in accordance with applicable accounting frameworks, company policies, and the management agreements. Tayte is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) with a specialization in accounting. She is also a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Todd Sweeney – Director, Information Technology
Todd has been with Campus Living Centres in various roles for over 13 years. Having performed in positions including Resident Advisor, Manager, as well as General Manager. Todd transitioned to IT Services after completion of MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and A+ (computer technician) certifications. Responsibilities for this role include the support and maintenance of all IT related systems and technologies employed within our operation. Having hands-on experience within a residence operating environment ensures that IT related needs of the business are understood and new technologies can be used to ensure operational efficiencies and competitiveness.

James Tansley – Director, Physical Resources
James started with Campus Living Centres in 2007. In this role, James is responsible for our entire building portfolio as it pertains to capital planning, maintenance contracts, department policy & procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with various codes, standards, and laws that apply to our facilities. James has prior experience with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing as part of the Ontario Building Code testing and certification process, and has successfully completed qualifications for three technical areas: Designer Legal Processes, Building Services, and Small Buildings. James has completed certifications with the Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI) for Residential Heat Loss and Heat Gain Calculations, as well as Residential Air System Design. James is a graduate of the Conestoga College, Architecture-Construction Engineering Technology program.

Rabia Butt, CHRL – Senior Manager, Human Resources
Rabia has worked in the Human Resources field for almost ten years, and specializes in the areas of Talent Management and Employee Engagement. She has extensive experience in the Property Management sector, and has been an asset to Richmond Community Management Services prior to joining Campus Living Centres. Rabia received her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba majoring in Human Resources and Marketing.
